2024-2025 Student Leadership Application

2024 - 2025 STUDENT LEADERSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN! Initial eligibility checks and interviews will begin in Spring 2024 (starting in April 2024).

Instructions:  

Selection Process 

A committee will review your application and may contact you for an interview upon eligibility review and based upon your preferred position. Most communications will be through email and come from studentlife@scc.spokane.edu. There will also be available drop-in hours at the Student Leadership Center (Lair Student Center, Room 102) for application assistance or if you have questions regarding the application process starting in April 2024.   

Vacancies in positions after the initial selection process will be reviewed and interviewed on a rolling basis as applications are submitted. 

If you are not selected for your preferred position, you may be considered for others. 

Eligibility Requirements 

Staff will verify eligibility. To be eligible for one of these positions, you must: 

  • Be enrolled in and complete at least 6 credit hours each quarter during your term of service. 

  • Maintain at least a 2.0 term GPA as well as a 2.0 cumulative GPA during your term of service. 

Some positions may require that you be eligible for a Financial Aid work-study (student employment) award. (This does not apply to all ASG positions or student manager positions.) 

International students are encouraged to check in with Global Education to ensure that all appropriate work visa or other paperwork (SSN Card) is completed. All student employees are required to complete all necessary Work Study orientation trainings and hiring paperwork through Financial Aid Work Study office prior to starting in a position. 

Start Date of Positions, Work Hours, etc. 

All student positions may serve starting as early as June 17, 2024 - June 18, 2025, with trainings in August and early September. Details on start date of service will be provided by the assigned supervisor. Some positions may begin trainings and orientations prior to June 17, 2024.  

All student employment positions are limited to up to 19 hours per week during the academic year unless the specific position and/or financial work study eligibility dictates less hours. Summer work hours will depend on enrollment and availability of funding. These positions are not benefits eligible.  

Hours of work are between 8 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. There will be limited exceptions for evening and weekend events, but under normal circumstances, no student employee will be permitted to work hours on evenings and weekends. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities 

Position descriptions for most positions are available in the Student Leadership Center and can be requested via email. Specific job titles and duties may change depending on a candidate’s skills and strengths.
