file iconHand written notes for protein transcription
This is how I study for lecture. Read the book, write out notes, create questions and then answer the questions. In this manner - you learn. You do not learn by passively reading and not following through. Rather, during test time, you will confuse yourself asking those very questions needed asking during your study time.

file iconHow the Krebs or TCA cycle works
file iconMicro 260 Beta oxidation
Beta oxidation is lipid oxidation. Note that a 16 chain hydrocarbon will produce as much as 96 ATP's compared with glucose of 38 ATP's. This is a scanned page from my biochem text.
file iconMicro 260 Chapter 5 notes
file iconPentose pathway
You should note how these system integrate together. That is the take home message. E.coli will run both glycolysis and the pentose phosphate pathway at the same time. One pathway produce NADH necessary for ATP production and the other produces NADPH necessary for anabolic reactions. Do know which is which?
