CAD Design & Drafting
Mechanical Engineering Technology
The programs in CAD Design and Drafting and Mechanical Engineering Technology prepare students with the skills necessary for drafting and design using both CAD drafting and solid modeling techniques. The course of study prepares students to work in a wide range of engineering disciplines, including engineering teams for large and small manufacturing firms, consultant engineering firms, testing, and research companies to gain employment as computer aided drafters and engineering designers. Graduates find employment in several engineering related fields: Mechanical, Machining/Fabrication, Sheet Metal/HVAC, Structural Steel, Civil Engineering, Building Systems/Fire Suppression-Alarms, Schematics, Aerospace, etc.
Note: Some career listings and employment guides list this program as Drafter, or Mechanical Drafter (Career Bridge, O-NET, WorkSource, etc.). Open that category to see CAD, CAD Drafter, CAD Design, CAD operator, etc. that all apply.
